Event Description

Victor Farmington Library Wants You for the Great American Read! Victor Farmington Library is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a free, six-part reading & discussion series to complement PBS’s Great American Read. The Great American Read lists 100 of America’s best-loved novels. Five novels have been chosen from this list, each concerning a family coping with adversity. Discussion will focus on why these books resonate with readers while examining the merits and shortfalls of each novel. The series was created and will be led by the erudite and entertaining Joe O’Toole. It begins in September and continues through February. Monthly sessions will take place on Wednesday evenings at the library from 6:30-8:00 pm. The Great American Read Book Discussion Series is funded by Humanities New York. Registration is required. Space is limited. Please join us!
