After a six-year hiatus, the “Never-Ending Tour” will return to Ithaca this fall, when Bob Dylan and His Band perform at Ithaca College on Nov. 17. Tickets for the 8 p.m. show are $55-$85 and will go on sale here on Sept. 20.

Dylan, who last performed in Ithaca when played at Cornell University’s Barton Hall in March 2013, will perform at Ithaca College’s recently built Athletics and Events Center. On his last two visits to Ithaca College, he played at the school’s Ben Light Gymnasium in 1994 and 1989.

One of the most influential performers in the history of pop music, and a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the 78-year-old Dylan has sold more than 100,000 million records since the early 1960s. From his early classics such as “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “Mr. Tambourine Man” and his electrified mid-60s hits such as “Like a Rolling Stone” and “Subterranean Homesick Blues,” through the rootsy late 60s and early 70s, the Rolling Thunder Revue of the mid-70s, and his eclectic output since then, Dylan has continued to defy expectations by continually reinventing himself, his songs, his band, and his sound. His latest release, 2017’s “Triplicate,” comprises three albums of pop standards, all done in his inimitable style. He also was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2016.

This year’s Dylan concert will come on Cortaca Jug weekend, when Ithaca College and nearby Cortland State renew their annual NCAA Division III football rivalry. This year’s game will take place for the first time at a neutral location, MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, on Nov. 16.
